NOVICE COMPETITIVE PROGRAMS

Toronto Synchro’s Novice Synchro program is ideal for swimmers aged 6-18 who are looking for more of a challenge by training TWICE per week and competing in several Synchro Ontario meets.

The Novice Competitive program offers an excellent middle ground for those wishing to have a competitive experience with relatively small time and travel commitment.

Novice Competitive swimmers train twice per week for the full year and will participate in three Synchro Ontario Novice Competitive meets. Swimmers participate in our Team Placement day, when coaches will determine teams according to age and swim/synchro skill.   While this program is not restricted to those with synchro experience, all swimmers must meet minimum swim requirements.  All Novice Competitive swimmers will be asked to sign a Swimmer Commitment form and are subject to the policies in the Novice Competitive Handbook.

Based on the Long-term Athlete Development (LTAD) model, all Novice Competitive swimmers will increase their strength, endurance, flexibility and focus as they learn and develop more advanced synchro and swim skills. There is also an extra emphasis on team-building, goal-setting and other social/mental skills.

Novice Competitive swimmers will also have the opportunity to swim in a mermaid or shark tail throughout the season!

Depending on coach and pool avilability, it may be possible for Novice Competitive swimmers to participate in either extra routines (solo/duets) or extra figures training. Costs for such programs will be paid separately.

All Novice Competitive swimmers participate in the following events:

  • Burning Bright for Breast Cancer Swimathon (Nov 2017)
